How to make your Room Dim without Candles

Many of us prefer to stay in a room that’s a bit on the dim side, especially if it’s somewhere we want to feel relaxed like a bathroom or a bedroom. A common thing people do is to turn off all the lights and light a few candles here and there, but you can be flirting with danger. Candles are fire hazards, no matter how careful you are with them, and you definitely don’t want to light them around if you have kids or pets that you have to keep an eye on. Here are a few ways to help create that dim atmosphere without using candles.

Move your Lights Around
If there’s an area in your room that has a number of different light sources, then try to level it out by moving a few of them to different areas. Some bulbs, like LEDs, are very bright and can give enough light for a big space. Try to put this in a spot where the light is evenly distributed. Turn off your Main Lights Most rooms have a centralized lighting system which consists of a few light bulbs that hang from the ceiling. If you turn these off and keep some of your other light sources on, like table and floor lamps, then you have a dim lit room.

Use Battery-Powered Candles It doesn’t really burn like a real candle, but the bulb is designed to mimic the flicker of fire in a candle. You can find these at dollar stores or novelty shops. They’re usually made with LED light bulbs and are very inexpensive.

Install a Dimmer Dimmers are just knobs that are installed in the main lighting system which lets you control the amount of light the bulbs gives out. You can get these at any home improvement or hardware store. For any comments or questions, contact our customer support hotline.
