New Orleans has always been an iconic city in the United States. The birthplace of jazz is going to look brighter with new LED bulbs lighting up the streets. 

NEW ORLEANS —"When I came in last night from decorating I said this is wonderful," Maris Sly George said. "I wonder what happened. We got better lighting all of a sudden." George lives in Central City. She said lighting in her area has long been a concern, especially because she is involved in so many activities that have her getting home after sundown. 

"Very often I'm coming home late and I'm alone," George said. "Very often I've been traumatized by seeing people walking up and down so I sit in the car and wait until my husband comes out or I see someone else," she said.
