Philippine City Goes with LEDs

Quezon City in the Philippines is planning to change their streetlights with LED bulbs. A big part of the country is facing a power crisis and the city council is mining to gain from the efficient benefits of these bulbs. MANILA, Philippines – Quezon City is in the process of replacing its streetlights with light-emitting diode (LED). The city council has allowed Mayor Herbert Bautista to sign the contract to purchase the replacements for the old high-pressure sodium light system. Bautista requested a P20-million budget from the city’s Budget Department to purchase 900 LED lights and control panel systems. Read on at ABS-CBN News.
