When it comes to jazzing up a room, you should never underestimate the powers of the room’s lighting system. In fact, lighting is one of the easiest things to change in a room without spending a lot of money, and it creates a drastic change. Your room’s lighting can turn your room from plain and boring into something that looks like it came out of a magazine spread. Here are a few ways to give your room some life without breaking the bank.

Use your holiday lights The holidays just ended, but it’s no reason to put away your holiday decorations, especially the ones made with LED light bulbs. You can use your holiday lights for a number of things, especially if you want to breathe some new life into your old space. Use them to decorate your wall or the ceiling. Place these on the post or on the bar to highlight them, or even at the back of your bookshelf so they can illuminate your books from behind. Be creative with your holiday lights and make the most out of them.

Colored bulbs Want to give your space a new color without painting it? Use colored LED bulbs. These are inexpensive, especially if you get them in sets. You can find these in most hardware shops or home improvement stores. These bulbs come in all kinds of colors and you can use them for indoor and outdoor areas. They’re also great for landscaping and garden lighting. Just be careful because some of these colored bulbs may give out a light that’s too harsh.

Decorative Lamp Covers Are your light fixtures looking too old and boring? Try to use some decorative lamp shades that you can pick up for a few dollars. If you’re feeling creative, you can even make them yourself. You can find plain colored lamp shades at the dollar store and use fabric paint to make them look more interesting.
