Things to Keep In Mind for Lights When Camping

Going out camping? Spending time in nature helps you take out the stress you get from the big city. Before you go, there are a lot of things you’ll need to prepare and pack up for the trip. Some food and a tent are not the only things you should pack, but it’s important that you bring some kind of light source to give you some kind of illumination while you’re in the camping grounds. Since you’ll be out in the outdoors, you’ll need to have a light source that will keep you safe when it’s dark out. Below are a few things to remember.

Brightness Some flashlights and lamps are not really that bright, so find out how many watts or lumens the bulb has. When comparing watts to lumens, the higher the lumens, the brighter the light is. However, it’s not the same as watts. Some bulbs use up a fraction of the power or watts other would need to produce the same lumens.

Bulbs like LED light bulbs use less energy but produce a strong, bright light that’s perfect for camping. Power If you have a rechargeable flashlight or lamp, check the capacity to know how long it’s going to last. Some rechargeable flashlights and lamps have a battery slot that lets you use regular batteries when the internal battery dies out. Before you head out, be positive that you’re lights are fully charged or that you replaced it with new batteries. Even if it uses power friendly bulbs like LED bulbs, it pays to be ready for anything.

Candles and Matches For emergencies, it’s always good to have a backup plan. Keep some candles and matches with you when you go camping. If all else fails, you can use these for a million things, from starting a fire to keep you warm to signaling rescue for help.
